Claudete Morsch Pereira Soares’ relationship with literature began long before the publication of her first book. For years, thoughts, emotions, and observations about life were recorded on loose sheets of paper, in notebooks, and on pages kept away from the public eye. What began as a deeply personal practice eventually developed into a literary career shaped by poetry and an expanding presence in cultural circles.
A graduate of the Federal University of Santa Catarina with a degree in Law and the University of Caxias do Sul with a degree in Psychology, Claudete brings a multidisciplinary background to her work as a writer and poet. She developed a strong interest in reading and writing at an early age, but it was during her first university degree that poetry began to occupy an increasingly important place in her daily life.
Between classes, emotions became poems. Love, faith, hope, personal concerns, and reflections on human existence emerged as recurring elements of a body of work characterized by a sensitive observation of life. A significant milestone came in 2015, when one of her texts was published in the literary journal of the Association of Judges of Rio Grande do Sul. She later became a columnist for Revista NOI – Nós no Mundo, contributing to the Psychology & Law column.
From Early Poems to Published Books
The process of organizing poems written over the years resulted in the publication of her first physical book, Fazendo Amor com o Universo em Versos (Making Love to the Universe in Verse), in 2018. The release marked the beginning of a growing collection of published works.
Her subsequent books include Anzóis do Tempo – Poemas Minimalistas (Fishhooks of Time – Minimalist Poems), Silêncio! O Amor Está Florindo (Silence! Love Is Blooming), Esqueceste em Mim o Teu Cheiro (You Left Your Scent in Me), and O Céu Comeu Melancia: Travessuras Poéticas (The Sky Ate Watermelon: Poetic Mischief).
Her works have also been released in digital formats, expanding access to her literary production and allowing her poetry to reach readers through different platforms.
Claudete has also contributed to collaborative literary projects and anthologies, including publications dedicated to Brazilian and Portuguese-language poetry. Her writing has appeared in bilingual editions and international projects, further extending the circulation of her work beyond Brazil.

As her literary career expanded, Claudete received a growing number of awards, honors, titles, and cultural distinctions. In recent years, she has been recognized in different regions of Brazil and has participated in cultural initiatives connected to countries including Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Her distinctions include awards related to literature, poetry, artistic production, and cultural contributions. Her career also includes medals and honors bearing the names of major figures in literature and culture, including Fernando Pessoa, Luís Vaz de Camões, Machado de Assis, Pablo Neruda, Florbela Espanca, Jorge Luis Borges, and Erico Verissimo.
Collaborative projects have become another significant part of her literary path. Since 2018, Claudete has participated in anthologies, collections, magazines, and cultural catalogs. Her writing has appeared in Portuguese as well as in editions featuring languages such as Spanish, French, English, Italian, and German.
The Brazilian writer has also participated in poetry exhibitions and international cultural projects, with works presented through initiatives connected to countries including China, Romania, Egypt, Italy, and Morocco.

Claudete’s institutional involvement has developed alongside her literary production. She is affiliated with Brazilian and international academies and cultural organizations dedicated to literature, the arts, and the promotion of culture.
At 63, the author remains actively engaged in writing and is already working on new editorial projects, with additional books currently in the editing process and future releases planned.
