Meghan Trainor Frustrated by Focus on Her Appearance Over Music Caree

Singer Meghan Trainor, recently honored at Billboard Women in Music as a Hitmaker, took to social media to express her frustration over the excessive attention paid to her appearance rather than her musical achievements. The artist, known for hits like “All About That Bass” and “Me Too,” lamented that her weight loss has been discussed more than her decade-long success in the industry.
“I am beyond honored to be recognized as a Hitmaker—that was a dream! But it’s a little disheartening that so many questions (and comments) have focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here. This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry,” she wrote.
Trainor shared that in recent years, she prioritized her health and well-being, striving to become the healthiest version of herself. To achieve this, she worked with a nutritionist, adopted healthier habits, and trained with a personal trainer. She also admitted to using Mounjaro—a medication originally prescribed for type 2 diabetes but popularized for weight loss—to regain her shape after her second pregnancy. “I’m so happy I did it because I feel amazing,” she said.
The singer also opened up about her decision to get breast implants, which helped her overcome years of insecurity about her body. Meghan has been married to actor Daryl Sabara (Spy Kids) since 2018, and the couple has two children: Riley, 3, and Barry, 1 year and 8 months old.
Ending her post on a hopeful note, Trainor urged fans and media to shift the focus back to what truly matters: “Let’s keep changing the conversation to what REALLY matters,” she wrote, emphasizing her desire to be recognized for her artistry rather than her physical transformation.
With a thriving career and millions of fans worldwide, Meghan Trainor continues to advocate for her music—not her appearance—to remain at the center of her story.
